The Arkansas Razorbacks sophomore center, Daniel Gafford, has been chosen to a pair of All-American teams today. The Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention and was named to the CollegeInsider.com Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America Team.
Gafford’s honor comes after he was announced as a consensus first team All-SEC and was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team this season.
Gafford becomes the 29th Razorback to be named an All-American and the 14th to make an AP All-America team. Gafford is also the first Razorback to be named to the Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America Team.
A native of El Dorado, Gafford always wanted to be a Razorback and meant it as well. He committed to the Hogs before his junior season and stayed loyal to his commitment, too. Gafford finished fifth in the nation in field goal percentage (.660) In the SEC, Gafford was the only player to rank among the league’s top five – much less top 10 – in scoring (4th), rebounding (2nd), field goal percentage (1st), blocked shots (3rd), offensive rebounds (2nd) and defensive rebounds (3rd).
